Ballet Arizona will bring \u201cRomeo & Juliet\u201d to Symphony Hall in downtown Phoenix Oct. 22-25, with choreography by Ib Andersen and Sergei Prokofiev\u2019s score performed live by The Phoenix Symphony.<\/p>\n
The ballet follows Shakespeare\u2019s familiar story of the young lovers from rival families, moving from romance to the conflict and tragedy that have made the story an enduring part of theater and dance.<\/p>\n
Ballet Arizona traces its roots to 1986, when three Arizona dance companies \u2014 Phoenix Ballet, Arizona Dance Theatre and Ballet West Arizona \u2014 merged to form the company. It became the state\u2019s only professional ballet company and has performed at venues including Symphony Hall and the Orpheum Theatre.
