The song follows \u201cIn The Night\u201d and the album\u2019s title track, \u201cRide Lonesome,\u201d as previews of Beck\u2019s first collection of all-new material since the Grammy-winning Hyperspace. Beck produced the new song, with longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich handling the mix.<\/p>\n<p>The album reunites Beck with Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner, musicians who previously worked with him on Sea Change, Morning Phase and Mutations. The sessions took place in Room B at United Studios in Hollywood, with Godrich, who also worked on Sea Change and Mutations, returning to mix. Beck said returning to familiar musical and physical territory also revealed changes in the group\u2019s performance and chemistry after decades of working together. \u201cWhile we were revisiting a musical and physical place, it also felt like we were finding new sounds and emotional textures along the way,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2026, Beck released the Everybody\u2019s Gotta Learn Sometime EP on February 13, an eight-track collection featuring songs associated with the Korgis, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Caetano Veloso, Hank Williams, the Flamingos and Daniel Johnston. On May 7, Beck made his first appearance at the Sydney Opera House, performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Beck then played orchestra dates in St Kilda on May 12 and 13.
