The Mustangs faced rival Germantown under the Friday Night Lights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hundreds of fans came to the stadium for the game, bringing school spirit and ways to stay cool, including water, towels and portable fans.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/A7Q3OE7UIFGSBNVPUYXQQROXJI.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>(Action News 5)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Fan Courtney Pace said it was the hottest game she\u2019s attended. Fan Jeff Brown said it was likely the hottest night he\u2019s watched a football game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pace came to support her son, who is in the band. Brown came to support his child on the team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The temperature climbed to 94 degrees, with a heat index near 97.<\/p>\n<p>Coach cites hydration<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Houston head coach James Thomas said staying hydrated is a priority on days like this for players and fans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou know how it feels. If you\u2019re properly hydrated, you just feel better. And when you\u2019re not, you don\u2019t feel so good,\u201d Thomas said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tailgaters were grilling before kickoff. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pace said fans should drink fluids to feel refreshed, move to shade if they get hot, and attend with a friend who can check on them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou need to be drinking something that helps you feel refreshed. If you get hot, you need to go into the shade.
