CHICAGO<\/strong> – Two Chicago men have been charged with murder in separate cases, including a fatal stabbing this week and the March shooting death of a 17-year-old boy, police said.<\/p>\n

Fatal stabbing in Little Village <\/p>\n

David Wilcox, 59, is charged with first-degree murder and another felony murder count in connection with the death of a 61-year-old woman.<\/p>\n

Chicago police said officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of South Christiana Avenue in Little Village around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person stabbed.<\/p>\n

Officers found the woman unresponsive inside the home with multiple puncture wounds. She died at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.<\/p>\n

Wilcox was also found with multiple cuts and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, according to police.<\/p>\n

Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n

Teen fatally shot in Montclare <\/p>\n

In a separate case, Michael Cano, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Jair Salinas.<\/p>\n

Police said officers found Salinas lying unresponsive in the street in the 6700 block of West Grand Avenue in Montclare around 12:49 a.m. on March 27.<\/p>\n

Salinas had been shot multiple times and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he died.<\/p>\n

Police said Cano was identified as the person responsible for the shooting and was arrested Wednesday at 5:25 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Logan Square.<\/p>\n

Cano also faces a felony drug possession charge, according to police.<\/p>\n

What’s next:<\/p>\n

Cano was due in court Friday for a detention hearing.<\/p>\n

Police did not provide court information for Wilcox.<\/p>\n

Arrest histories <\/p>\n

Chicago police records show Cano has been arrested at least seven times since 2016. Those arrests included allegations involving battery, drug possession and gun offenses, as well as a 2024 arrest for driving a vehicle with canceled, suspended or revoked registration. His most recent listed arrest before the murder case was in May 2026 on a battery allegation.<\/p>\n

Police records show Wilcox was previously arrested in October 2015 on an attempted possession of a controlled substance charge.<\/p>\n
