{"id":1016994,"date":"2026-08-22T12:18:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T12:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1016994\/"},"modified":"2026-08-22T12:18:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T12:18:15","slug":"dallas-weather-north-texas-heat-warning-extended-for-fifth-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1016994\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas weather: North Texas heat warning extended for fifth day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday\u2019s high is forecast to reach 107 degrees, two degrees over the highest recorded temperature from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/fwd\/dfw_records_normals\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">2016<\/a> of 105 degrees, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The heat index, or \u201cfeels like\u201d temperature, is expected to reach closer to 109 degrees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>North Texans will see some clouds throughout the day, as well as the potential for \u201cwidely scattered showers and thunderstorms\u201d to develop, according to the weather service\u2019s Friday afternoon forecast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If any showers or storms do form Saturday, the weather service said this \u201cmay create havoc with high temperatures and associated heat headlines.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some of these thunderstorms could produce gusty winds and frequent lightning, which could make some outdoor activities like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-health\/article\/north-texas-summer-lake-safety-22326931.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">boating<\/a> dangerous, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas-Fort Worth region also remains under an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/article\/north-texas-wildfire-risk-persists-week-amid-hot-22391299.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">elevated wildfire threat<\/a>, as hot and dry conditions continue. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/article\/montague-county-wildfire-evacuations-22398374.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">100-acre wildfire<\/a> began Friday around noon near Gainesville in Montague County, prompting initial evacuations that were later cancelled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The weather service encourages practicing heat safety and avoiding any activities that could cause a wildfire to start, such as tossing lit cigarettes, dragging tow chains on the ground or driving over tall grass.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Several D-FW counties are also under a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/article\/north-texas-wildfire-risk-persists-week-amid-hot-22391299.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">burn ban<\/a>, including Dallas and Tarrant counties.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>SATURDAY:<\/strong> Mostly sunny with record-tying heat. 20% chance for a stray shower or storm.
