Call of Duty<\/a> is making its return to Nintendo platforms after 13 years this October, and Activision has revealed the developer who helped with the Switch 2 version of Modern Warfare 4<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Infinity Ward called on Activision’s partners at Digital Legends<\/a>. The Spanish-based studio, founded in 2001, made a name for itself as a mobile developer and was acquired by Activision<\/a> in 2021. Since then, it’s been assigned to multiple Call of Duty titles, including Black Ops 6<\/a>, 7<\/a> and Warzone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The studio has also shared an official announcement<\/a> about its work on the native version of Modern Warfare 4 for Switch 2:<\/p>\n

Digital Legends Entertainment:<\/strong> “Breaking boundaries once again! Infinity Ward, in partnership with Digital Legends, is developing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 natively for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the MW series to Nintendo players for the first time in more than a decade. More to come later this summer!”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Activision has already given select creators and outlets an opportunity to go hands on with the Switch 2 version of Modern Warfare 4 ahead of next week’s open beta, and the first impressions seem to be relatively positive.<\/p>\n

The open beta for Switch 2 gets underway on 28th August 2026<\/strong> and will include the campaign mission ‘Entrenched’ and multiplayer, including crossplay support. The full game arrives later this year on 23rd October 2026<\/strong>, with the Switch 2 version launching the same day as other platforms.<\/p>\n
