Fort Worth\u2019s Sendera Springs Library branch, under construction in northwest Fort Worth, is on schedule to be completed in December, the city staff told members of the Fort Worth Library Advisory Board in an update during their Aug. 6 meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n Voters approved the 18,000-square-foot branch, at 1307 Avondale Road, in the city\u2019s 2022 bond program<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The branch features:<\/p>\n Construction is set to finish in December 2026. Sherry Knight, assistant director of operations for the Fort Worth Public Library, told board members the branch is on schedule for a January 2027 opening.<\/p>\n Office elections<\/strong><\/p>\n The board nominated and elected Chris Campbell as new vice chair of the board. Campbell was unopposed. His term will begin Oct. 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n Strategic plan update<\/strong><\/p>\n The library\u2019s strategic plan is nearing completion, with extensive community and staff engagement.<\/p>\n J.R. Clanton of BerryDunn,<\/a> the library management consulting firm the city hired, gave an overview of the plan<\/a> to board members.\u00a0<\/p>\n This plan is intended to guide daily decisions and resource allocation, and be integrated into staff work plans and public communications.<\/p>\n Clanton\u2019s presentation covered project updates, the library’s community and staff engagement roles and next steps. The project is in its final phase.<\/p>\n Community engagement has included over 1,000 surveys and 142 budget exercises. Internally, a group of staff members from throughout the system met four times on the plan.
