Lamine Yamal keeps on being compared to Lionel Messi as he continues to thrive for Barcelona and Spain.<\/p>\n

The teenager is now wearing Messi\u2019s iconic No. 10 shirt at Barcelona<\/a> and will be hoping to add more trophies to his collection in the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n

Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola has now been asked about the two players and the following to say.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Lamine Yamal should be allowed to develop his career. And when he\u2019s been playing for fifteen years, we\u2019ll decide if he\u2019s better or worse. Let him develop his career,\u201d he told GQ.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the fact that he\u2019s being compared to Messi is a big deal. Like if you compare a painter to Van Gogh, they\u2019ll say, wow, he\u2019s not bad, it\u2019s a sign he\u2019s good. And that comparison is a sign he\u2019s good. But we have to let him develop his career. And we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guardiola was then quizzed further and added: \u201cMessi has been a big deal. 90 goals in one season, for 15 years, nonstop, without injury. That\u2019s a big deal. Let him go.
