Anna Faris has opened up about the difficult conversations she has with her 14-year-old son, Jack \u2014 whom she shares with her ex, Chris Pratt<\/a> \u2014 about religion.<\/a><\/p>\n

Jurassic World star Pratt, 47, is among the few Hollywood A-listers who have spoken openly about their Christian faith<\/a>. He and Faris, 49, married in 2009 and welcomed Jack in 2012<\/a> before divorcing in 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Jack] is religious. I didn\u2019t grow up with religion. He\u2019s asked me to accept Jesus Christ [as my savior],\u201d Faris said of her son on Chelsea Handler\u2019s Dear Chelsea podcast this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it\u2019s going to take a whole lot of long conversations.\u201d <\/p>\n

Faris described Jack as \u201csolid as a tugboat emotionally\u201d and \u201cdoesn\u2019t get easily jarred,\u201d which means she is able to \u201cchallenge him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Do you think it\u2019s a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that\u2019s kind of a luxury?\u2019\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Maybe,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOr I\u2019ll say, \u2018What do you think of this mega pastor that\u2019s kind of a grifter?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, mega pastors are the worst.\u2019 So it\u2019s like, \u2018Okay, he\u2019s getting there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Faris added that she\u2019s \u201cappreciative\u201d that her son is \u201cexamining religion\u201d by \u201crecognizing hypocrisy,\u201d and is grateful they can have \u201clong conversations\u201d about it together.<\/p>\n

The Independent has contacted Pratt\u2019s representatives for comment.<\/p>\n

Jack was born nine weeks premature and suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage \u2014 an experience that Pratt said had a profound impact on his faith.<\/p>\n

In a December 2025 essay for Maria Shriver\u2019s Sunday Paper, <\/a>the actor said he found himself \u201cback on my knees, pleading with God for a miracle\u201d when Jack was in the NICU. <\/p>\n

\u201cI promised that if Jack survived, I would devote my life to sharing God\u2019s message. This time I meant it,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Asked if he ever felt attacked over his religious beliefs, Pratt told PageSix in 2023, \u201cThat\u2019s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him [Jesus], too.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018If I was of this world, they would love me just like that, but as it is, I\u2019ve chosen out of this world.\u2019 That\u2019s John 15:18 through 20,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Pratt went on to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger, 36, whom he met in church. The couple shares three children.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Faris married cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021, and is now a stepmom to his daughter, Margot.<\/p>\n

The Scary Movie star is currently promoting her new comedy, Spa Weekend, which follows a group of friends whose relaxing getaway quickly descends into chaos. Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher and Michelle Buteau also star.<\/p>\n
