{"id":1020286,"date":"2026-08-24T03:58:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T03:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1020286\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T03:58:31","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T03:58:31","slug":"hospital-patient-accused-of-destroying-50000-worth-of-computers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1020286\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital patient accused of destroying $50,000 worth of computers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) &#8211; A patient at UnityPoint Health &#8211; St. Luke\u2019s Hospital is accused of causing $50,000 worth of damage to hospital equipment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to a criminal complaint, officers arrived at St. Luke\u2019s Hospital Friday for reports of a male breaking a computer and needing to be restrained by security staff. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The complaint said 37-year-old Cory Hogan, of Waterloo, was upset with hospital staff for attempting to make him stay as an inpatient. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The complaint said Hogan then completely damaged two Bio Med computer systems by punching one and throwing the other to the ground.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The estimate for the cost of the two computers is $50,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hogan is charged with Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree, a class C felony. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCRG.
