{"id":1020458,"date":"2026-08-24T06:18:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T06:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1020458\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T06:18:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T06:18:52","slug":"mexican-sex-offender-gets-2-5-years-for-illegal-reentry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1020458\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexican sex offender gets 2.5 years for illegal reentry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A Mexican man previously convicted of sexual battery in Jacksonville has been sentenced to 2\u00bd years in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Miguel Solis-Morales, 43, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jordan E. Pratt, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Middle District of Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Federal and state court records show Solis-Morales was convicted of sexual battery in September 2009. He was designated a sexual predator under Florida law and sentenced to five years in state prison.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">After completing that sentence, immigration authorities deported him to Mexico in May 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Authorities found Solis-Morales back in Jacksonville on Feb. 16, 2026, when the Florida Highway Patrol arrested him for violating state probation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Investigators determined that he had not received permission from U.S. immigration authorities to legally return following his deportation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Solis-Morales will be deported to Mexico after completing his federal prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The Florida Highway Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations investigated the case.
