While lists that focus largely on hip-hop and R&B can often include current-day smashes alongside tunes from years ago, the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart is certainly one of the oldest-leaning rosters published by the company each week.

This frame, the newest track featured on the 25-space rundown was released in 2006. That kind of showing is not always the case, but this is an especially quiet period with no major debuts on the roster. That means there is space for favorites to return, and one group brings multiple tracks back to the list — the only two that the band has ever charted, in fact.

Alice in Chains Returns with Two Hit Singles

Alice in Chains returns two tracks to the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this week, and the pair of hits sit side-by-side. “Man in the Box” reenters at No. 24, while “Nutshell” follows immediately behind at No. 25.

Alice in Chains Nearly Returns to a Career High

“Nutshell” misses out on returning to its all-time peak by only one space. The track has climbed as high as No. 24 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking, a position it reached less than a year ago, this past December.

“Man in the Box” has performed slightly better. The longtime favorite rose to No. 18 less than a month after debuting on the roster in July 2024.

Alice in Chains’ Two Hits Have Enjoyed Similar Runs

The two Alice in Chains smashes are not far apart in terms of either peak position or time spent on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally. “Nutshell” has now accumulated 37 weeks somewhere on the list, while “Man in the Box” is up to 43.

Alice in Chains Ties AC/DC and Three Days Grace

As both Alice in Chains tracks return together, the group ties several other acts for the second-most appearances on this week’s Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. Alice in Chains sits on the same level as AC/DC, which charts with “Thunderstruck” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Three Days Grace also occupies two spaces, as both “Animal I Have Become” and “(I Hate) Everything About You” are present at the moment.

Linkin Park claims one additional hit. The set slips one spot to No. 23 this week.

Dirt is one of three Alice in Chains releases that have climbed to No. 1 on the genre-specific ranking, alongside The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Rainier Fog. All three spent only a single frame at the summit. Dirt is one of 10 Alice in Chains projects that have ever appeared on the Top Hard Rock Albums roster throughout the group’s career.
