Four young people were shot \u2014 including a teen who died a day later \u2014 during a wild Bronx car meetup<\/a> that ended in dozens of bullets fired, police sources said Monday.<\/p>\n

The rowdy meetup, part of an alarming trend that has taken hold on social media, sparked off about 5:40 a.m. Sunday on E. 233rd St. near Boston Road in Baychester, police said.<\/p>\n

Werling Mendez, 18, was rushed in critical condition to BronxCare Health System, where he died Monday morning from a gunshot wound to the head, cops said. He lived in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, according to cops.<\/p>\n

A 22-year-old man shot in the chest and a 20-year-old woman shot in the foot were taken by medics to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.<\/p>\n

A 25-year-old woman delivering slushies shot in the left foot was also taken to BronxCare Health System.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t clear what sparked the shooting or who was targeted. Sources said upwards of 60 shell casings were found at the scene.<\/p>\n

A fifth victim, a 37-year-old woman, was treated at Jacobi Medical Center for minor injuries when a gunman several blocks away put a gun to her head and stole her phone and chain. The gunman fled in an Acura with two accomplices, police said.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n

Car meetups <\/a>have caused concern in neighborhoods around the city, with dozens of souped-up cars converging on quiet streets, where the drivers drag race and perform dangerous stunts.<\/p>\n
