Described as the \u201cquintessential sleepover nightmare,\u201d it\u2019s set for an Oct. 8, 2027 theatrical release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tChase directs from a screenplay co-written with \u201cNight Swim\u201d screenwriter Bryce McGuire, adapted from McGuire\u2019s original short story. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBlumhouse Atomic Monster also presented Chase\u2019s \u201cInsidious: Out of the Further\u201d along with Sony. The sixth installment in the \u201cInsidious\u201d franchise opened this past weekend to a solid $60 million worldwide. Chase has also directed \u201cCome Play\u201d and last year\u2019s \u201cBad Boy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAhead of the \u201cInsidious: Out of the Further\u201d release, Chase <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/features\/insidious-out-of-the-further-jump-scares-1236838758\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told Variety<\/a>, \u201cScaring people is kind of like magic \u2014 literally magic tricks \u2014 which is also something I had a real affinity for growing up,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s all misdirection, right? It\u2019s figuring out how you can constantly surprise an audience in the way that the best magic tricks do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tJason Blum will produce, while Chase, McGuire and Bea Sequiera serve as executive producers. Lilly Tyson will oversee the project for Blumhouse Atomic Monster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cSleepover\u201d is a Cinescape Entertainment production presented by Universal and Blumhouse Atomic Monster. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tChase is represented by CAA, Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown &amp; Passman, and The Initiative Group.
