Some attractions are hard to miss, so when the Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, standing at 168 feet, underwent a major change, parkgoers sounded the alarm.<\/p>\n
Fans noticed that the Superman figure atop the iconic coaster had been removed on or around Saturday, August 22. A viral social media post<\/a> showed a crane attached to the figurine, and later the ride appeared without the hero.<\/p>\n “Can’t have s*** in San Antonio,” one TikTok user, Jacob McNeely, commented on the post.<\/p>\n “No…Are they getting (rid) of Superman?” another user asked in the comments.<\/p>\n It’s not an easy modification to make. The Superhero statue towers over what the park<\/a> calls the second-tallest 360-degree loop in the world, standing 145 feet tall. Still, its presence evokes nostalgia in many, as the coaster was introduced over two decades ago.<\/p>\n The good news \u2014 folks have no reason to believe it’s permanent. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation Regional Manager Cyle Perez tells MySA the figurine is undergoing “routine maintenance and refurbishment.” What some may find unsettling is that there’s currently no date for its return. However, take heart, Perez says, “it will be back shortly.”<\/p>\n Content creator Hennisphere<\/a>, who covers various theme park location developments, shared in a Sunday, August 23, YouTube post<\/a> that it would be repainted. Six Flags did not comment on whether that detail was accurate. In Hennisphere’s video, the massive figurine can be seen lying on a trailer behind a fence.<\/p>\n Other changes planned for Six Flags will have a longer-term impact. Construction on “Project Blood Moon,” part of the company’s new Werewolf Gorge ride, will begin this week, according to state filings. The family coaster will span more than 4,000 feet, with 32 floater airtime elements and four high-speed launches up to 45 mph, according to a past MySA report<\/a>. It also includes a 40-foot drop and an 85-foot elevation change, towering werewolves and a dramatic finish through a crumbling rock structure.\u00a0<\/p>\n Scheduled for a 2027 debut, the project is the biggest investment in park history, a spokesperson told MySA.<\/p>\n
