At the TCU Burnett School of Medicine, first-year medical students settle in for their first class of the day. There are 62 first-year students, including Tatum Hall. <\/p>\n
The first year is full of firsts. Tatum is also a first. For four years of undergrad, Tatum was on the TCU Showgirls dance team. She is the first Showgirl alumna to enroll at the Burnett School of Medicine. <\/p>\n
“I’m really excited to start this journey,” Hall said. “Yeah, I’m excited to just honestly get a lot better at taking blood pressure. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be.”<\/p>\n
“Throughout college, I really had to learn how to be like good at time management because I was a TCU showgirl and a biology major, so like that was already a big undertaking,” Hall said.<\/p>\n
It still is; when Tatum isn’t studying, she’s the showgirls’ game day coach. <\/p>\n
“So I just feel like throughout this year as a game day coach, just being able to just show them that you aren’t just confined to one little box,” Hall said. “Just show them that you really can reach for a really big dream of yours.”<\/p>\n
Boxes are for surgical masks, not dreams. <\/p>\n
