\n\tSony\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>\u201d retained the No. 1 spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office for a fourth consecutive week, collecting \u00a33.6 million ($4.8 million), according to Rentrak. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe superhero blockbuster pushed its running cumulative gross to $117.9 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>,\u201d directed by Christopher Nolan, held firmly in second place during its sixth frame, grossing $3.7 million to cross the $100 million milestone with a local total of $101.4 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tHorror sequel \u201cInsidious: Out of the Further<\/a>,\u201d distributed by Sony, arrived in third place with an opening weekend of $2.9 million. Warner Bros.\u2019 \u201cThe End of Oak Street\u201d followed in fourth position in its second weekend, adding $1.2 million for a running total of $6.2 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tBlack Bear\u2019s comedy \u201cSpa Weekend<\/a>\u201d rounded out the top five with an opening haul of $668,191. Paramount\u2019s animated sequel \u201cPaw Patrol: The Dino Movie\u201d placed sixth in its third week with $643,678, bringing its cume to $5.9 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tMastershot Studios\u2019 Malayalam-language film \u201cBethlehem Kudumba Unit,\u201d one of India\u2019s Onam holiday releases, landed in seventh place with $593,485. Disney\u2019s animated holdover \u201cToy Story 5\u201d took eighth position in its 10th week, generating $512,456 to lift its cume to $76.2 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tStudiocanal\u2019s action thriller \u201cMutiny\u201d opened in ninth place with $504,397. A24\u2019s \u201cTony\u201d held the 10th spot in its sophomore session, collecting $461,807 for a total of $1.3 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tOutside the top 10, Mubi\u2019s \u201cTeenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,\u201d the third feature from director Jane Schoenbrun (\u201cI Saw the TV Glow\u201d), had a strong theatrical start across the U.K. and Ireland after opening on 176 screens . The film debuted at No. 11 with a Friday-to-Sunday gross of $306,438 and an overall opening haul of $445,317 including previews. Among English-language new releases, it secured the second-highest screen average of the frame behind \u201cInsidious: Out of the Further,\u201d while achieving the top screen average of any specialized title in the top 15 ahead of \u201cTony.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film surpassed the entire lifetime local gross of \u201cI Saw the TV Glow\u201d in its opening weekend alone. BFI Southbank served as Mubi\u2019s top-performing venue for the title and the cinema\u2019s third-biggest opening of the year, alongside strong regional showings at Lighthouse Dublin, Glasgow Film Theatre, Watershed Bristol, and sold-out screenings at Dukes at Komedia Brighton. The title also ranked as the third best-performing release across the Picturehouse circuit, trailing only \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day,\u201d as Mubi rolled the picture out across North America, Latin America, Italy, Germany, and Austria.<\/p>\n

\n\tLooking ahead to the upcoming theatrical frame, mid-week event programming begins on Aug. 26 with Trafalgar Releasing rolling out music documentary \u201cGhost: 2 Big to Rig\u201d across 100+ locations.<\/p>\n

\n\tWide debuts on Aug. 28 across 300+ locations include Disney\u2019s post-apocalyptic drama \u201cThe Dog Stars\u201d starring Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, Vertigo Releasing\u2019s animated family feature \u201cThe Pout-Pout Fish\u201d and Antonin Baudry\u2019s historical drama \u201cDe Gaulle: R\u00e9sistance.\u201d Following previews last Friday, Altitude is opening \u201cCoyote vs. Acme\u201d across U.K. and Irish cinemas wide on Friday, in line with the U.S. release. <\/p>\n

\n\tFilms opening across 100+ locations include Universal\u2019s \u201cOne Night Only,\u201d Gregg Araki\u2019s \u201cI Want Your Sex\u201d from Black Bear and Anime Ltd.\u2019s 4K release of \u201cKiki\u2019s Delivery Service.\u201d Studiocanal is opening Yeon Sang-ho\u2019s zombie thriller \u201cColony\u201d and Curzon, Pedro Almodivar\u2019s \u201cBitter Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n
