We\u2019re lucky to still have Jeremy Renner with us. In 2023, he was nearly killed in a snowplow incident, caught beneath a 14,000 lb machine on his Lake Tahoe property \u2013 and somehow, he managed to pull through. These years later, after a considerable recovery, he\u2019s back in action, returning in front of the screen with a renewed focus<\/a>. And that includes literal action \u2013 as Renner tells Empire in a major new interview, he\u2019s still prepared to grab that bow and arrow and throw himself into the MCU<\/a> fray once again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always happy to be in that world, man,\u201d he says of the MCU. \u201cI love all those guys, I love the character.\u201d That could even mean a second run of Hawkeye<\/a>, his headline Disney+<\/a> streaming series that teamed his sharp-shooting Clint Barton with Hailee Steinfeld\u2019s young Kate Bishop. \u201cI\u2019m sure we\u2019ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I\u2019m happy to do it,\u201d he says. \u201cMy body\u2019s getting ready for something like that. I don\u2019t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Hawkeye was always a physically demanding role, Renner says that he\u2019s at a point now where he could pull off that signature move from The Avengers<\/a>, leaping into the air, twisting around, and firing an arrow all in one motion. \u201cAbsolutely. No problem,\u201d he says. \u201cThat\u2019s where I\u2019m at. I\u2019m more than 150 per cent of what I was prior to the incident.\u201d Where he says he used to only take on a fitness routine in the run-up to playing a role, he\u2019s now embraced it as a part of his everyday existence. \u201cHaving health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that\u2019s what\u2019s gotten me back,\u201d he explains. \u201cAnd even as I age, I just feel stronger than I\u2019ve been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn\u2019t if I didn\u2019t get crushed.\u201d Someone call Pizza Dog.<\/p>\n
