{"id":1026912,"date":"2026-08-27T06:41:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T06:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1026912\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T06:41:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T06:41:18","slug":"woman-struck-dead-by-car-while-crossing-nyc-street-just-blocks-away-from-her-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1026912\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman struck dead by car while crossing NYC street just blocks away from her home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 61-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street just a few blocks away from her home in Queens on Wednesday \u2014 the latest in a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/20\/us-news\/bronx-cyclist-killed-in-hit-and-run-had-called-wife-just-minutes-earlier\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">series of recent pedestrian deaths<\/a> across the city.  <\/p>\n<p>Wang Jing was crossing Union Turnpike near the intersection with Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills around 8 a.m. when she was struck by a 2010 Honda Civic, police said. <\/p>\n<p>The Honda Civic, driven by a 56-year-old woman, was making a left turn onto Union Turnpike when it hit Jing \u2014 who was crossing outside the marked crosswalk, according to the NYPD. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.51255539;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   data-modal-image=\"40532048\" width=\"892\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/061724kissena6jm.jpg\" alt=\"Two women with an umbrella cross a street while a man on a bicycle passes by an NYPD vehicle.\" class=\"wp-image-40532048\"\/>NYPD presence is seen in Queens.
