\u201cMean Girls\u201d star<\/a> Amanda Seyfried<\/a><\/strong> has listed her longtime Los Angeles<\/a> home for $3.2 million, 15 years after she purchased the property for nearly half the price it is now on the market for. <\/p>\n

The 40-year-old actress<\/a>, who now resides primarily on a beautiful farm property in upstate New York<\/a>, which she bought in 2013, has used the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home as her West Coast base for more than a decade. <\/p>\n

In March 2025, she opened up about her decision to relocate to the rural New York estate full time, explaining that the calm setting helped to ease the symptoms of her anxiety and OCD.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Now, it seems she may well be ready to cut ties with California<\/a> altogether, after bringing her 2,700-square-foot Los Angeles abode to the market, where it is listed with Justin Paul Huchel<\/strong> of Carolwood Estates. <\/p>\n

Seyfried purchased the picturesque L.A. dwelling, which was originally built in 1916, from her \u201cJennifer\u2019s Body\u201d co-star Adam B<\/a>r<\/a>ody<\/a><\/strong> in 2011 for $1.85 million, using a trust through which she has previously released music. <\/p>\n

\u201cMean Girls\u201d star Amanda Seyfried has listed her longtime Los Angeles home for $3.195 million, more than a decade after purchasing the property. Google Earth<\/p>\n

The home sits on a 9,104-square-foot lot and boasts a beautiful outdoor space that is ideal for soaking up the California sunshine and includes a host of amenities, including a private swimming pool, spa and wraparound porch, while the interiors feature a den and scenic views.<\/p>\n

The listing makes note of the home’s many privacy features, describing it as a “private oasis” tucked behind “mature hedges and a private gate.”<\/p>\n

The property is “surrounded by lush gardens and features a sparkling pool and spa, creating an idyllic setting for both entertaining and everyday living.”<\/p>\n

Inside, the home boasts several dedicated living and dining spaces, as well as a kitchen and cozy den.<\/p>\n

Upon entering the dwelling, guests are greeted with an expansive floor plan that opens up to the main living area, which features a cozy fireplace.<\/p>\n

The kitchen is surely the crown jewel of the home thanks to its blue cabinets and state-of-the-art appliances.<\/p>\n

Adjacent to the kitchen there are several seating areas surrounded by floral wallpaper. <\/p>\n

“A light-filled sunroom provides the perfect space to relax, work, or enjoy views of the beautifully landscaped grounds year-round,” the listing describes. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the home, there is a garage that has been converted into a gym.<\/p>\n

Out back, the leafy grounds are anchored by a private swimming pool and spa, creating a secluded spot for relaxing and entertaining.<\/p>\n

A wraparound porch adds to the century-old home’s character, while the property also boasts scenic views.<\/p>\n

“Located just steps from Runyon Canyon, this one-of-a-kind retreat offers the best of both worlds-peaceful, resort-like living in the heart of the city,” the listing adds. <\/p>\n

The decision to sell comes years after Seyfried and her husband, Thomas Sadoski<\/strong>, made a major lifestyle change, swapping Los Angeles for a quieter existence on their sprawling farm in upstate New York.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actress previously lifted the lid on how trading the glare of the\u00a0Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0spotlight for quaint farm life in upstate\u00a0New York\u00a0helped to ease her anxiety and OCD symptoms.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0The Wall Street Journal<\/a>, she described the debilitating nature of her obsessive-compulsive disorder, revealing that she was “barely” able to function when the condition was at its worst. <\/p>\n

The actress, who hails from\u00a0Allentown, PA<\/a>, also looked back on her childhood, admitting that she was “relentlessly loud and energetic and needed constant attention” when she was younger. Performing was one of the few things that helped to alleviate her symptoms early on.<\/p>\n

“Performing and make-believe eased my anxieties. I was able to step outside of myself,” she said.<\/p>\n

However, as her acting career began to take off, Seyfried said the constant attention and “stress” caused her to compare herself to others around her, making her more anxious.<\/p>\n

“I was born with obsessive-compulsive disorder. They didn\u2019t figure that out until later, but the signs were there,” she shared.<\/p>\n

“If my socks weren\u2019t a certain length, I could barely function. This was true about other things. I\u2019d jump on floor tiles and not be able to continue walking until I was satisfied it was safe.”<\/p>\n

After she began modeling, she quickly developed body insecurities, she said. “Modeling was performing, but I had braces and noticed I was chubbier than everybody else, creating new anxieties. To be 11, 12, and 13 just sucked.”<\/p>\n

Seyfried landed the role of Karen Smith in the hit 2004 movie “Mean Girls” after auditioning for the lead part, Regina George.<\/p>\n

However, it wasn’t until she secured the lead role of Sophie in the musical film “Mamma Mia” that she truly became a household name, taking center stage in her first major lead role.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, despite having more eyes on her, Seyfried discovered how she could calm her OCD symptoms, one of which involved setting up a full-time residence far away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

In 2013, nine years after “Mean Girls” was released, the actress moved to a 1930s farmhouse, where she and Sadoski now live with their two children\u2014and a host of rescue animals.<\/p>\n

“Today, I live with my husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, and our two children on a 1930s farm in upstate New York. I fell in love with the main house\u2019s rustic stonework and the trellis between the house and stand-alone garage,” she told the Journal.<\/p>\n

While seeking calm and quiet away from Los Angeles has been integral for Seyfried maintaining her mental health, she said that caring for the animals they house on the property has been the best thing for her.<\/p>\n

“The house was small, so we built onto it to add a kitchen. We use the barns as a sanctuary for rescued horses, ducks, chickens, peacocks, goats, and other animals,” she went on.<\/p>\n

“I still have anxieties, but tending to the aging animals keeps me from obsessing over things that don\u2019t matter. My pony, Cliff, is 38. Every day I have with him is a gift. It\u2019s grounding.”<\/p>\n

Further in the interview, Seyfried revealed that the home’s interior is “very farmhouse.” Her favorite area of the property is a “little window-box area that extends off my living room, giving me office space. It\u2019s like a cozy den,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the weekends, I\u2019ll wake up with the kids on Saturday mornings, I make them breakfast, and then I sit in the window box while the kids watch\u00a0‘Bluey,’\u201d she previously told\u00a0House Beautiful<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ll crochet there or just sit there\u2014that\u2019s me decompressing. It\u2019s everything. It\u2019s my happy place.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She admitted that she is very particular about the kitchen and noted that she doesn’t want people touching her cabinets.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere’s one thing that makes me want to cry: If [the kids] scratch the cabinets or people touch them with their dirty hands. I’m like, \u2018Get your filthy hands off my cabinets.’<\/p>\n

“If you drip spaghetti sauce on it or even water or coffee, you got to clean it up right away. But nobody is as focused on the cabinets as I am. And that’s OK. I do not fault that, to each their own,” she confessed to\u00a0House Beautiful.<\/p>\n

The adjoining barn on the property was transformed into a guesthouse, and Seyfried has focused on passing on her love for animals to her two children:\u00a0Nina<\/strong>, 8, and\u00a0Thomas<\/strong>, 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can see them learning what a responsibility and treat it is to care for pets, even at their young ages. I think all pets give us purpose,” she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Seyfried previously told\u00a0Vogue<\/a>\u00a0it took her “10 months” to renovate the home, adding that she kept its “rustic charm.”<\/p>\n

The actress sold her Manhattan condo for $3.25 million in 2022, having purchased the property for $1.9 million in 2010.<\/p>\n

The couple still own a home in New York City, however. It’s a stunning apartment on the Upper West Side that she purchased the same year that she offloaded her former city abode.<\/p>\n
