Taiwanese officials return to Dallas next month for the Taiwan Expo USA<\/a>, riding a wave of North Texas deals in recent months and the U.S.-Taiwan trade deal signed earlier this year. The expo will be held Sept. 24-26 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.<\/p>\n

The February trade agreement cuts reciprocal tariffs on Taiwanese goods. In exchange, Taiwanese chip and technology companies committed to invest at least $250 billion in U.S. semiconductor production, a pledge backed by $250 billion in Taiwanese government credit guarantees.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Taiwanese companies expanded their presence in North Texas. Wistron opened a $700 million plant<\/a> to build and test NVIDIA AI supercomputers, and Foxlink Group launched its first U.S. \u201cAI factory.\u201d<\/a> In McKinney, LITEON is building a $919 million North American headquarter<\/a>s and advanced manufacturing campus expected to create more than 600 jobs.<\/p>\n

Mutually beneficial relationship<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roger Su, general manager of Sysgration America Corp., a subsidiary of Taiwan\u2019s Sysgration Ltd., told Dallas Innovates that opening a North Texas location<\/a> helped the company expand its U.S. customer base.<\/p>\n

Sysgration America manufactures a variety of tech products, including AR\/VR glasses, industrial PCs and \u201cgreen energy\u201d lithium battery packs. It opened a 100,000-square-foot facility in Plano late last year.<\/p>\n

Su said Sysgration America hired local and expat employees for its Plano location. Also, it used local companies for architecture, construction, financial, legal, maintenance and other services.<\/p>\n

\u201cTexas is attractive for its business environment and cost considerations. North Texas provides the\u00a0availability of facilities and a labor force,\u201d Su said.<\/p>\n

Make me a match<\/strong><\/p>\n

The expo helps deals flow between the U.S. and Taiwan through the Business Matchmaking Program. The expo said the program generated $96 million in potential deal value last year.<\/p>\n

Designed to strengthen business ties between the U.S. and Taiwan, this year\u2019s program will connect qualified U.S. buyers with more than 100 Taiwanese suppliers. Sectors represented include smart energy, mobility, automation and health care.<\/p>\n

Taiwan\u2019s Ministry of Economic Affairs and International Trade Administration organize the event. Taiwan External Trade Development Council<\/a>, which opened a Dallas office in 2023<\/a>, hosts the expo.<\/p>\n

Simon Lai, director of the Taiwan Trade and Investment Service Center in Dallas, said Taiwan ranks as the fourth-largest trading partner of the U.S. Bilateral trade topped $256 billion in 2025.<\/p>\n

Texas represents \u201ca key destination for Taiwanese investment and expansion in the United States,\u201d Lai said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTexas is famously where today\u2019s products are made and tomorrow\u2019s technologies come to life,\u201d he said. \u201cAs an advanced manufacturing powerhouse, Texas offers a top-tier business environment that is highly favored by Taiwanese enterprises.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recent surveys show Taiwanese companies rank the U.S. as a primary expansion target, Lai said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Ready to do business\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taiwan Expo USA said the event enables U.S. companies to identify new suppliers, evaluate sourcing options and build business partnerships. Each matchmaking session lasts 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s participating suppliers include CyberLink, MiTAC Digital, Micro-Star International, ONYX Healthcare, Recharge Power and Aeolus Robotics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis program exists because our suppliers are ready to do business, not just showcase products,\u201d Taiwan Expo USA said.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of spending days searching for the right contacts, U.S. buyers arrive with scheduled meetings, suppliers who understand their sourcing needs and dedicated time to explore meaningful business opportunities,\u201d the expo said.<\/p>\n

Expo registration<\/strong><\/p>\n

Registration for the expo<\/a> remains open with no deadline for general visitors. Registration for matchmaking ends Sept. 9, and business registration ends Sept. 23.<\/p>\n
