introduced updated automated accounting features for its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QuickBooks<\/a>\u00a0product.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new enhancements are designed to offer companies the use of artificial intelligence (AI) automation to help eliminate the use of \u201cmultiple disconnected tools,\u201d Intuit said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/investors.intuit.com\/news-events\/press-releases\/detail\/1262\/intuit-launches-intelligent-automations-to-simplify-accounting-for-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a>\u00a0Tuesday (July 29).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs businesses grow in size and complexity, we know that they need a financial technology platform that provides deeper customisation, enhanced automation and features to get critical jobs done,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/ie.linkedin.com\/in\/ciaranquilty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ciar\u00e1n Quilty<\/a>, Intuit\u2019s senior vice president of international, said\u00a0in the release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe\u2019re committed to listening to our customers to help businesses and accountants work smarter, not harder, whilst gaining the financial expertise and confidence they need to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the updates is \u201cQuickBooks Payments,\u201d letting users connect their bank accounts to a \u201cpay now\u201d button on invoices to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/accounts-payable\/2024\/64-percent-of-smbs-face-delayed-payments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reduce late payments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, Intuit now offers an AI-powered bank feed, aimed at addressing issues related to\u00a0categorizing bank transactions, which the company calls \u201cone of the most repetitive and error-prone tasks in accounting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This tool can learn from users\u2019 actions and suggest categories based on historical patterns, letting businesses streamline workflows and improve accuracy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These updates come one week after Inuit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence\/2025\/intuit-adds-agentic-ai-enterprise-suite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">added AI agents<\/a>\u00a0to its Enterprise Suite, which can handle routine accounting tasks and other duties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As PYMNTS wrote soon after that launch, tools like these are helping small medium-sized business (SMB) owners use AI to level the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2025\/ai-in-accounting-services-may-level-playing-field-for-small-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accounting services playing field<\/a>, offering these smaller operations access to tools that were once solely the domain of large enterprises.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAI will amplify the value of accounting services for SMBs,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ariege\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ariege Misherghi<\/a>, senior vice president and general manager of accounts payable, accounts receivable and accountant channel at Bill, said in an interview with PYMNTS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOnce routine tasks like data extraction and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/b2b-payments\/2024\/into-the-nitty-gritty-how-why-and-where-automation-optimizes-b2b-payments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invoice processing<\/a>\u00a0are automated, accountants will be freed up to focus on higher value advisory work that only humans can provide: applying judgement, guiding SMBs through complex financial decisions and delivering strategic insights,\u201d Misherghi added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/lisaxhuang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lisa Huang<\/a>, senior vice president of product management at Xero, told PYMNTS that many accounting systems remain manual despite mounting external pressures for the industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe accounting and bookkeeping industry is at a turning point,\u201d Huang said. \u201cMany professionals are overworked and under-resourced,
