Tony Romo is not out of the woods just yet over his arrest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Romo, the former Cowboys quarterback, was handed three new citations in Milwaukee on Thursday related to his July arrest on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, court records viewed by The Post show.<\/p>\n

The NFL analyst for CBS<\/a>, who was placed on indefinite leave<\/a> after the incident, was hit with first-offense operating while intoxicated, unsafe passing on the right side, and possessing open intoxicants inside his vehicle.<\/p>\n

This comes exactly one month after Romo was given a citation for his refusal to take an intoxication test after his arrest on July 23.<\/p>\n

He is due in court for his four citations on Sept. 21.<\/p>\n

\u201cTony accepts full responsibility for his actions and has taken proactive steps to ensure that this isolated civil matter is properly resolved. We are working with local authorities to bring this matter to a close and we are communicating with CBS about next steps,\u201d a spokesperson for Romo told The Post.<\/p>\n

Romo was arrested after performing poorly on a field sobriety test once deputies pulled him over, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old told authorities he did not have anything to drink and was on his way to visit \u201cGrandma and Grandpa\u201d after playing in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament.<\/p>\n

One officer, however, said Romo \u2014 who appeared disheveled on police bodycam footage \u2014 had an \u201copen bottle of an alcoholic beverage\u201d located on the passenger side of his black Jeep.<\/p>\n

Following the arrest, CBS placed Romo on leave \u201cuntil further notice,\u201d according to a statement from the network on July 31.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, CBS Sports president David Berson further clarified that Romo would not be a part of coverage anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an evolving situation and therefore we are still assessing,\u201d Berson said on Aug. 11. \u201cThere is no timetable or final decision at this time.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you can respect and appreciate this is a personnel matter and a legal one for Tony, so I can\u2019t speak to that aspect of things,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, former NFL star J.J. Watt was chosen to replace Romo<\/a> as the network\u2019s top booth analyst going forward.<\/p>\n

Romo is still reportedly owed $72 million over the next four years to fill out his 10-year, $180 million deal that CBS gave him in 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tony Romo is not out of the woods just yet over his arrest.
