For me and so many of my friends, it was such an iconic movie.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe continued, \u201cI think maybe one of the first exposures to extreme violence and also satire. I think that\u2019s what I\u2019m most looking forward to, hopefully preserving those elements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStevens will take on the role of Alex Murphy and his cyborg alter ego in the show based on the MGM movie franchise. The eight-episode series, written by Peter Ocko, follows a giant tech conglomerate that persuades the city to place a powerful robot on its police force \u2013 a robot implanted with the consciousness of a beloved fallen officer, Alex Murphy (Stevens).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPeter Weller originally played Alex Murphy in RoboCop (1987) and its sequel, RoboCop 2 (1990). Robert Burke took over the role for the third installment in 1993.
