It allows law enforcement to take White into custody for up to five days unless she submits complete financial records as ordered by the court.

White was previously found in civil contempt for failing to comply with a court order requiring her to complete a Fact Information Sheet, a form used to disclose assets, income, and other financial details in post-judgment proceedings.

The underlying lawsuit was brought by Rayvon Griffin-Bright and her company, Rayvon Creates LLC, who claim White defrauded them and others through her short-term rental mentorship program. The plaintiffs were awarded a final judgment of more than $35,000, which they are still trying to collect.

In the motion to cancel the writ, White’s attorney said she has now submitted an amended and verified Fact Information Sheet with all required attachments, including bank statements and available tax records.

The motion also states that White has no current income and that her bills are being paid by her child’s father. She also says JW Enterprises Unlimited has been inactive since 2023 and has no assets, contracts, or financial activity.

Her attorney writes in the emergency motion that White did not file 2022, 2023, and 2024 taxes despite a social media post claiming her business earned more than $437,000 during the 2024 tax season.

White also denies having any affiliation with other businesses that share her name, which were cited in the plaintiff’s earlier filings. That includes Luigi’s Concrete and More, LLC.

“Luigi’s Concrete is not part of this lawsuit and has not been operational since 2023. As of today, the business is inactive and in debt, with outstanding judgments and foreclosures,” White’s attorney wrote.

Chris Dempsey, the attorney for the plaintiff Rayvon Griffin-Bright, refutes that claim. He says White utilized Luigi’s Concrete and More LLC for her “Airbnb scheme” at issue in this lawsuit.

“As always, Ms. White has an escape hatch: pay the judgment. This would moot the current contempt proceedings. While Ms. White represents that she has no money, both her opulent lifestyle and public statements contradict this representation. She clearly can pay the judgment but chooses not to. Instead, Ms. White seems intent on making flimsy excuses for her active contempt of court and has adopted a pattern of attempting to gaslight the court, her victims, and public by painting herself as the victim, which is uncontroverted the opposite of reality, as her over 100 victims in the Northeast Florida region can readily attest,” Dempsey said in a statement to News4JAX. “JSO has the Writ for execution and is anticipated to accomplish Ms. White’s arrest imminently.”

The motion argues that White has made a good-faith effort to comply with the court’s orders and should not be subject to arrest. Her attorney is asking the judge to cancel the writ and accept the amended financial disclosure as sufficient to purge the contempt.

A judge has not yet ruled on the emergency motion, but told the involved parties that they could schedule a hearing for October. That means the civil arrest warrant would still be valid until then.

News4JAX has also reached out to Janay White’s attorney for comment on this story.
