NEW YORK —Mets<\/a> slugger Juan Soto<\/a> was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Saturday ahead of the team’s game against the Houston Astros<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The five-time All-Star landed on the injured list last month for the second time this season after imaging revealed a Grade 2 strain.<\/p>\n

Soto had been nursing the nagging calf problem for about a week before he left a game against theDodgers<\/a> in discomfort. He walked twice against Los Angeles starter Roki Sasaki<\/a> during a 4-2 loss at Citi Field before being replaced by pinch-hitter Jorge Polanco<\/a> in the sixth inning with the score tied at 1.<\/p>\n

Soto is hitting .283 with 21 homers, 52 RBIs and a .947 OPS in 84 games during his second season with the Mets.<\/p>\n

The Mets also optioned infielder Eric Wagaman<\/a> to Triple-A following Friday night’s 3-1 loss to the Astros.br\/]<\/p>\n
