Gal Gadot appears to be done with her role as DC hero Wonder Woman, telling ScreenRant in an interview published Thursday that she hadn’t had any discussions with either director James Gunn or DC Studios about returning, and giving a message to the next Wonder Woman.<\/p>\n

“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much, so whoever it’s going to be to portray her, I wish for her that she enjoys this amazing ride with this amazing character,” Gadot<\/a>, the Israeli actress<\/a> who first debuted as Diana Prince in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, before appearing in her solo Wonder Woman movie in 2017, said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I’m just grateful that I was granted the opportunity to wear her boots and celebrate this incredible character and everything she stands for,” Gadot added.<\/p>\n

In total, Gadot<\/a> appeared as Wonder Woman in six films, with her last appearances being cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash three years ago.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

While a third Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot was greenlit in 2020, in 2022, the DC Universe began a reset led by Gunn and Peter Safran, and the third Wonder Woman movie did not fit the new plan.<\/p>\n

It was canceled, along with other projects, as part of the old DC<\/a> canon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new DC canon, which began with 2024’s Creature Commandos, left behind multiple familiar castings. Neither Henry Cavill nor Jason Momoa returned to play their titular characters, Superman and Aquaman, although Momoa did return as a different character in the universe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gadot appeared hopeful in 2023, telling Flaunt that Gunn and Safran told her at the time they would develop a third Wonder Woman movie with her and that she had “nothing to worry about.”<\/p>\n
