The first triple-digit day for 2025 arrived Tuesday just before 4 p.m. And it may get topped as the hottest day of the year in the next 24 hours, as it\u2019s forecasted to get even hotter. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The National Weather Service\u2019s Fort Worth office has projected that Wednesday and Thursday will both reach a high of 103. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The first triple-digit day for the region has arrived <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/07\/28\/with-d-fw-still-below-100-degrees-whats-the-biggest-reason-behind-this-abnormal-summer\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/07\/28\/with-d-fw-still-below-100-degrees-whats-the-biggest-reason-behind-this-abnormal-summer\/\">later than usual<\/a>, since the historical average is July 1. But it\u2019s not unheard of for it to happen at the end of the month \u2014 in 2019, the first 100-degree day arrived July 30 and 13 more followed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/07\/24\/whats-the-criteria-for-heat-advisories-and-extreme-heat-warnings-in-north-texas\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/07\/24\/whats-the-criteria-for-heat-advisories-and-extreme-heat-warnings-in-north-texas\/\">heat advisory<\/a> that has been in place for D-FW since Monday was extended through 7 p.m. Wednesday, with heat index values of up to 108 possible. The alert warns of an increased risk of heat-related illnesses and encourages people to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2023\/06\/15\/your-ultimate-guide-to-surviving-the-heat-in-dallas-fort-worth\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2023\/06\/15\/your-ultimate-guide-to-surviving-the-heat-in-dallas-fort-worth\/\">practice heat safety<\/a> when spending time outside.
