UPDATE 5:15 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BC RCMP confirmed that one person has died in a motor vehicle incident on the Trans Canada Highway on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Officers with the Revelstoke RCMP were called out at approximately 2 p.m. to the crash on Highway 1 near the Victor Forest Service Road, west of Revelstoke and east of Three Valley Gap.<\/p>\n

RCMP said in a statement provided to Castanet tha one individual was found deceased at the scene. The second person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

“The RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service Team is also enroute to investigate the cause of the collision.”<\/p>\n

Officers are on scene, and the RCMP said no further information is available at this time.<\/p>\n

The highway remains closed in both directions, eastbound at Victor Main Forest Service Road and westbound at Victor Lake Park. There is no estimated time of reopening.<\/p>\n

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed west of Revelstoke on Saturday afternoon due to a vehicle incident.<\/p>\n

DriveBC is reporting that the crash is one km northeast of Victor Main Forest Service Road.<\/p>\n

Highway 1 is closed in both directions, and an assessment is in progress.<\/p>\n

Travellers are told to expect major delays.
