Lozano, who joined the Galaxy on loan after spending the opening months of the season on the sidelines with San Diego FC<\/a>, made his second start for his new team at his old stomping grounds of Snapdragon Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His emotions were obvious as he scored to cut San Diego\u2019s lead to 2-1.<\/p>\n

San Diego’s flagship signing and first-ever Designated Player, Lozano was a key piece of the Chrome-and-Azul’s historic 2025 MLS expansion campaign, producing 12g\/11a between the regular season and Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.<\/p>\n

But the longtime Mexican international had spent most of this season on the sidelines after SDFC head coach Mikey Varas and sporting director Tyler Heaps confirmed<\/a> in January that he wasn’t in the club\u2019s plans following disciplinary issues late last season.<\/p>\n

San Diego loaned<\/a> him out to their Western Conference rivals earlier this month. On Saturday, he exacted revenge with a quality finish into the bottom corner.<\/p>\n

Lozano set up Ky\u014dgo Furuhashi<\/a>‘s apparent equalizer six minutes after his strike, but the goal was called back following Video Review for a Lozano foul.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite Lozano\u2019s goal, the Galaxy eventually fell 3-1<\/a> to San Diego.
