I\u2019ve been following the FDA recall website for years, and have never seen this many contaminated foods and products.<\/p>\n

This regime has gutted the FDA and we\u2019re beginning to see the effects.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just lettuce, eggs, jalapenos, blueberries and alfalfa sprouts. It\u2019s also pet food, medical devices and medication.<\/p>\n

Here are just a few examples from the FDA website: ( I wonder how long they\u2019ll keep posting the recalls.)<\/p>\n

1. Baxter Drug\u2019s 70% Dextrose Injection <\/strong>has \u201cPotential presence of particulate matter identified as stainless steel particles in the solution.\u201d<\/p>\n

STAINLESS STEEL?<\/p>\n

This is the stuff that people who get IV nutrition at home \u2014about 40,000 people \u2014 rely on.<\/p>\n

2. Baxter also recalled their Anticoagulant Sodium Citrate Solution<\/strong>, because it has pieces of fiberglass in it. This is used to slow down blood clotting during apheresis procedures (where a machine separates blood into its parts).<\/p>\n

3. Fresenius Kabi recalled their Tyenne injection<\/strong>, used for people with rheumatoid arthritis. The reason for the recall: the \u201cPresence of Glass Particles.\u201d<\/p>\n

4. Optiray recalled their Ioversol Injection<\/strong>, which is used as a as a radiographic contrast agent. Reason: \u201cPresence of particulate matter comprising polyethylene and other plastic materials, stainless steel and glass.\u201d<\/p>\n

5. American Regent recalled their Adequan injection<\/strong> for both dogs and horses, used to treat joint dysfunction. Reason: \u201cVisible glass fiber material in the product.\u201d<\/p>\n

6. Northwest Naturals Dog Food<\/strong> has issued a recall due to \u201cPotential contamination with Salmonella and\/or Listeria monocytogenes.\u201d<\/p>\n

7. Oma\u2019s Pride Dog Food<\/strong> has issued a recall. Reason: \u201cContaminated with Salmonella.\u201d<\/p>\n

8. Lundberg Family Farms<\/strong> has recalled their White Jasmine<\/strong> Rice<\/strong> due to \u201cpotential contamination with foreign material.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, I could go on and on. We need to be extra vigilant these days. I check the FDA recall site<\/a> regularly. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s hope the media + citizen awareness and complaints puts enough pressure to make the administration re-hire at least some of the fired FDA staff. Sometimes it works.<\/p>\n
