PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 Philly parents may soon have easy access to school information in the palm of their hands.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The school district is working on developing a mobile app for schools. The aim is to make it easier for parents to see schedules for school and sporting events, lunch menus and attendance information.<\/p>\n
Superintendent Tony Watlington said parents have told him the school district\u2019s website works fine on a computer, but that it\u2019s \u201call jumbled\u201d on mobile web browsers and \u201cdoesn\u2019t make sense.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve learned from our families that they get more information from their cell phones than sitting down sometimes at a computer,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Watlington said that with parents inundated with information these days, the district decided to design an app that simply lays it all out. <\/p>\n
