The Gulf is an area of interest this week as a weak low-pressure system meanders. It is moving slowly west along the Gulf Coast, and by Tuesday it will be Houston\u2019s problem. Right now, the low pressure is running into dry air, but it has plenty of warm water to draw on for fuel. <\/p>\n
A high chance that will organize into a tropical system<\/p>\n
There is now a 70% chance that this could develop into an organized system. Models indicate that it could become a tropical depression by Tuesday, and there is even a chance it could be named a tropical storm. If named, it would be Edouard. Regardless of development, it will bring a batch of tropical moisture, increasing the risk of flooding.<\/p>\n

Rain totals 2-4 inches with some spots locally higher. The low will push inland Tuesday and continue to move north through southeast Texas into Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Tuesday morning the tropical rain reaches the southeast Texas coast and continues to move inland through the day. Bringing rain as far north as The Woodlands. <\/p>\n

Tropical Storm Dolly formed Thursday and quickly fell apart Friday, becoming a remnant low with a chance to redevelop as it moves west into the Bahamas.<\/p>\n
As it moves through the Atlantic, it still has to overcome wind shear and dry air. Regardless of development, it will bring rain across the Caribbean, which, for islands like Puerto Rico, will help break drought conditions.<\/p>\n
For us in southeast Texas, we need to monitor how far west it comes into the Gulf late in the week, if anything is left of it.<\/p>\n
