Kadokawa<\/a> revealed on Monday all three episodes of the\u00a0anime<\/a>\u00a0special<\/a> for the television anime<\/a> based on Akumi Agitogi<\/a> and Tsukiho Tsukioka<\/a>‘s My Happy Marriage<\/a> (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon<\/a>) light novel series will air and stream on October 25. The company also revealed a new teaser trailer, a new cast member, and the ending theme song artist.<\/p>\n

The below teaser previews the ending theme song “Prelude no Temae ni: ~for me&you~” (Right Before the Prelude: for me&you”) by Kashitar\u014d It\u014d<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

The special will air on TV Tokyo<\/a> and other stations starting on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. JST, and will stream on Netflix<\/a> and other services starting on the same day at 8:30 p.m. JST.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reina Ueda<\/a> and Kaito Ishikawa<\/a> return from previous anime seasons as Miyo and Kudo, respectively.<\/p>\n

Takehiro Kubota<\/a> \u2014 who directed the first anime season, the 2024 OVA<\/a>, and co-directed the second season with Masayuki Kojima<\/a> \u2014 is returning to direct the three-episode special at Kinema Citrus<\/a>. Kubota is also in charge of series composition for the special. Mika Tanaka<\/a>, who worked on production advancement for the first season, will pen the script alongside Ikuho Negi<\/a>. Sh\u014dko Yasuda<\/a> returns as character designer alongside Hikaru Sato<\/a> and Kuniyuki It\u014d<\/a> (It\u014d was previously credited for sub-character design for the second season). Evan Call<\/a> returns to compose the music.<\/p>\n

Anna Okamatsu<\/a> returns as color designer from previous seasons. Omi Noda<\/a>, who previously worked on background art in the second season, is now the background art director. Yoshinori Hishinuma<\/a> returns for art setting and is additionally credited for art supervision alongside Yoshihiro Sono<\/a>. Mikio<\/a>, Ry\u014d Hirata<\/a>, and Takeshi Takakura<\/a> return for prop design. Tsunetaka Ema<\/a> returns as compositing director of photography. Y\u016bji Koshida<\/a> returns as the 3D director. HALKA<\/a> returns for kimono design. Hydekick<\/a> returns as 2D artist. Masayuki Kurosawa<\/a> returns as editor. Takahiro Ikeda<\/a> is once again the music director. MIRACLE BUS<\/a> is credited for music production. Kisuke Koizumi<\/a> returns as sound director. Glovision<\/a> is credited for sound production.<\/p>\n

The second season premiered in January 2025 on Tokyo MX<\/a>, BS11<\/a>, KBS Kyoto<\/a>, Sun TV<\/a>, TV Aichi<\/a>, and on AT-X<\/a>. Netflix and other services also began\u00a0streaming<\/a> the season at the same time it premiered on broadcast television.<\/p>\n

The first season premiered in July 2023 with 12 episodes. Netflix also began streaming the anime worldwide in July 2023. The eighth novel volume bundled<\/a> an original anime titled “Shiawase no Katachi<\/a>” (The Shape of Happiness) on Blu-ray Disc when it shipped in March 2024. The OVA also streamed<\/a> simultaneously worldwide on Netflix and other streaming services in November 2024, on “Good Couples Day” in Japan.<\/p>\n

Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the novel series in January 2019. Yen Press<\/a> licensed<\/a> the light novels, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n

Born to a noble family, Miyo is raised by her abusive stepmother and married off to Kiyoka, a soldier so heartless his prior fianc\u00e9es fled within three days into their engagement. Rito Kohsaka<\/a>‘s manga adaptation debuted on Square Enix<\/a>‘s Gangan Online<\/a> website in December 2018. Square Enix Manga & Books<\/a> is releasing the manga physically and digitally in English.<\/p>\n

A live-action film adaptation<\/a> of the novels opened<\/a> in Japan in March 2023. The film ranked<\/a> at #1 in its opening weekend, and sold 479,700 tickets to earn 654 million yen (about US$4.97 million) in its first three days.<\/p>\n
