The U.S. military\u2019s Central Command said it took<\/a> \u201climited, precise action\u201d against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps\u2019 \u201cminelaying forces,\u201d which it said posed an imminent threat to the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM said Iran\u2019s actions were creating a threat, and it acted to eliminate that and \u201cprotect civilian mariners, commercial shipping and the free flow of global commerce.\u201d Iranian state media reported explosions near Larak Island, which is located near the Strait of Hormuz, while the IRGC acknowledged multiple casualties.
