(Alina Smutko\/Reuters)<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Russian President <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_world_article_main-content_article-body_6_2210963\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/world\/personalities\/vladimir-putin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Vladimir Putin<\/a> has simultaneously intensified attacks on Ukraine\u2019s warehouses and logistics network, damaging distribution centers used by major retailers and disrupting food deliveries.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Russian drone attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region stretched into a fifth consecutive day Monday, with strikes damaging warehouses, a retail outlet and residential buildings in the Kyiv region.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The attacks are part of a broader campaign against Ukrainian commercial and logistics infrastructure. He said retailers would shift logistics and use alternative methods of delivering food.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Ukrainian outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/kyiv.tsn.ua\/kyiv\/vidomi-supermarkety-kyyeva-sporoznily-pislia-udariv-rf-po-skladakh-iakykh-produktiv-uze-brakuye-3158540.html?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">TSN reported Aug. 30<\/a> that some NOVUS locations in Kyiv were short of bread, potatoes, apples and oatmeal, while supermarket chain ATB had introduced limits on how much of certain products customers could purchase.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Ukraine, meanwhile, has expanded its own campaign against <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_world_article_main-content_article-body_6_2210967\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/bringing-war-putins-front-door-ukraine-energy-strike-strategy-working\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Russian economic infrastructure<\/a>. Ukrainian drones have targeted oil facilities as well as warehouses connected to major Russian online retailers, including <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_world_article_main-content_article-body_6_2210968\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/russia-amazon-deep-strike-ukraine-blitz-wiping-billions-putin-linked-ceo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Wildberries and Ozon<\/a>. Reuters reported Monday that a logistics hub in Yekaterinburg was also struck by a drone.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. (Anadolu)<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The escalation comes amid new reporting about Putin\u2019s calculations over how \u2014 or whether \u2014 the war can end.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The Economist reported Aug. 30, that Putin fears ending the war without Russia achieving even what he considers a minimum objective \u2014 control of all of Donbas \u2014 could threaten his position and potentially his physical safety.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;They will hang me,&#8221; Putin reportedly told people around him at some point during the war, according to an unnamed insider cited by The Economist.
