They&#8217;re not paying their soldiers. Their leaders are largely dead. Their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Their surveillance equipment is almost entirely gone,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThat doesn&#8217;t mean we won&#8217;t smack them. We&#8217;ll see what happens,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Trump also addressed the Strait of Hormuz, saying the US had it in \u201cextremely good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cYou know we&#8217;re taking over many, many ships. Got through last night, as you know, with the navy&#8217;s assistance. And we&#8217;ve been averaging 30 ships a night. That&#8217;s a lot. And a lot of oil is coming out,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThat&#8217;s why you haven&#8217;t seen the price of oil go like they thought it might have to go,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has previously tied pressure on Iran to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/iran-news\/article-904617\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">August<\/a>, he said the strait would open \u201cvery soon\u201d and warned that Iran would be \u201chit very hard\u201d if it did not.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Iran will never have a nuclear weapon&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Trump went on to reiterate that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remained a central objective.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cIran will never have a nuclear weapon. See, that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s all about. It&#8217;s not about any of the other things. It&#8217;s about us as a country and for the world. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cIf Iran had a nuclear weapon, Israel would have been wiped out. You would have no Israel right now, and you&#8217;d probably have no Middle East,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Trump added that Iran would eventually be \u201chitting our cities at some point,\u201d before reiterating, \u201cIran will never have a nuclear weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly maintained that Iran will not be permitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/iran-news\/article-904617\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">obtain a nuclear weapon<\/a>.
