{"id":103611,"date":"2025-07-30T02:09:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T02:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/103611\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T02:09:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T02:09:14","slug":"free-for-all-trinity-metro-wont-charge-for-rides-during-first-week-of-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/103611\/","title":{"rendered":"Free for all: Trinity Metro won\u2019t charge for rides during first week of August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fort Worth\u2019s transit agency is urging area residents to embrace its slogan: \u201cLet\u2019s Ride!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After all, every Trinity Metro ride will be free Aug. 4-10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week of complimentary services will allow even more residents to leverage the rally cry of \u201cLet\u2019s Ride!\u201d and get on board a bus, train, On-Demand rideshare van or bike to accomplish just that \u2014 riding public transit,\u201d said Glenn Miller, Trinity Metro\u2019s director of marketing. \u201cWe\u2019re calling this campaign \u201cFree-Haw!\u201d \u2014 a play on \u201cYee-Haw!\u201d \u2014 as we are hoping our riders exclaim that while they are enjoying the week of free rides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trinity Metro\u2019s free services for buses, trains, bikes and On-Demand rideshare will coincide with back-to-school activities and tax-free shopping during the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/comptroller.texas.gov\/taxes\/publications\/98-490\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sales tax holiday weekend Aug. 8-10<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No tickets will be needed during the promotion. Simply board a bus or train to explore the county, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to eliminate any barriers to exploring transit options, and we hope they find it is easy to understand and will choose to ride again,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n<p>Trinity Metro\u2019s popular TEXRail line heads from downtown Fort Worth to downtown Grapevine and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. A free shuttle available at Grapevine\u2019s Main Street Station goes to Grapevine Mills mall, resorts and other retail locations within the city. (Mary Abby Goss | Fort Worth Report)<\/p>\n<p>Free rides will also be available on the Trinity Railway Express train that goes between downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas, however the offer is only valid in Tarrant County.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your travels take you east of CentrePort\/DFW Airport Station, you will need to purchase a <a href=\"https:\/\/trinityrailwayexpress.org\/fares-passes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DART Local Day Pass<\/a>,\u201d Trinity Metro officials said in a news release. To learn more, click <a href=\"https:\/\/ridetrinitymetro.org\/rider-services\/ondemand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>About 400 Trinity Metro Bikes, available at 62 stations around Fort Worth, are also included in the free ride offer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough each 30-minute ride is free for the week, your bike usage requires activation of an account and a $50 security deposit held for up to 48 hours,\u201d officials said. In November 2023, the agency offered a full month of free services to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Last summer, Trinity Metro hosted fare-free First Fridays to also generate awareness of the transit system.<\/p>\n<p>The Aug. 4-10 fare-free campaign is \u201ca natural fit because it ties in with tax-free weekend, when families will be traveling to stores for back-to-school items,\u201d Miller said. \u201cThese promotions provide an opportunity to thank our loyal riders and to give non-riders a chance to try our transit network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eric E.
