Next week, Apple will debut its first ever foldable iPhone model: the iPhone Ultra<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max<\/a> are coming too, expected to go on sale later that week ahead of wide availability September 18.<\/p>\n

But even though iPhone Ultra will be announced at the same event, it\u2019s still unclear if Apple\u2019s foldable model will actually ship to users at the same time as iPhone 18 Pro.<\/p>\n

There have been countless reports over the last several months regarding the launch timing for iPhone Ultra. Fortunately, the most recent reporting is optimistic that we\u2019ll see the device ship in September\u2014albeit with limited supply.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital said<\/a> supply will be \u201cextremely limited\u201d at launch, but per his sources in the supply chain, there\u2019s no evidence of a delay past September.<\/p>\n

Similarly, a July report<\/a> in Cailian News Agency referenced conversations with Apple supply chain sources. \u201cThey said that there was no change in the delivery time date in September, denying rumors of product postponement.\u201d ChannelNews Australia<\/a> was another recent source saying the device would be available in September, at least in the US.<\/p>\n

Looking further back though, the story changes. <\/p>\n

Ming Chi-Kuo predicted<\/a> earlier in the summer that iPhone Ultra will follow a similar strategy to the iPhone X in 2017. Meaning it could be announced in September but ship later in the fall. Macworld heard<\/a> a similar plan from its sources.<\/p>\n

And back in April, Nikkei Asia<\/a> stirred a lot of buzz by reporting the foldable could be delayed several months into 2027. Mark Gurman at Bloomberg refuted<\/a> that report though, saying the device was still \u201con track\u201d for September.<\/p>\n

iPhone Ultra release timing: wrap-up<\/p>\n

In summary, the more recent reporting indicates that iPhone Ultra will indeed ship in September. It might be available in very limited territories and quantities, but early adopters should be able to buy it soon.<\/p>\n
