Woman killed in wrong-way crash on Eastex Freeway (KPRC2\/Click2Houston.com)<\/p>\n

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas<\/strong> \u2013 Alfredo Cartagena is in the Harris County Jail with a $150,000 bond. Investigators charged him with intoxicated manslaughter. Court documents show that Cartagena is also under an ICE hold for an immigration violation.<\/p>\n

According to the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Cartagena was intoxicated when he drove southbound in the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

27-year-old Kelsey Gomez was killed when Cartagena\u2019s truck hit her car head on.<\/p>\n

911 calls came in a little after 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning saying that a vehicle was the wrong direction in the northbound lanes. A few minutes later, callers reported the vehicle had crashed.<\/p>\n

Cartagena was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is due back in court in October.<\/p>\n
