{"id":1036385,"date":"2026-09-01T05:33:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T05:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1036385\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T05:33:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T05:33:15","slug":"most-israeli-desalination-plants-shut-down-again-water-restrictions-continue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1036385\/","title":{"rendered":"Most Israeli desalination plants shut down again, water restrictions continue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Most of Israel&#8217;s desalination facilities were shut down on Tuesday morning after operating overnight, following another increase in seawater turbidity, the Water Authority and Energy and Infrastructure Ministry said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Under instructions issued for the national water system, local authorities will reduce water use for public landscaping and agriculture and work to cut other public water consumption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Officials said water supplies to homes would continue despite the shutdowns.<\/p>\n<p>The impact of a widespread malfunction at Israel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-898754\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">desalination facilities<\/a> reached central Israel on Monday, with residents of Givatayim warned that water supply disruptions could occur in the coming hours, including reduced water pressure and even outages in certain areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">A message sent to residents stated: \u201cFollowing problems with the water supply in the national water network, disruptions to water supply may occur in the coming hours, including reduced pressure and water outages in certain areas. We ask the public to conserve water as much as possible and use water only for essential needs until normal operations resume.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The warning came amid an unusual disruption to Israel\u2019s national water network, after five of the country\u2019s six desalination facilities were forced to shut down.
