Credit: Cody Barclay<\/p>\nWith more than a decade having passed since AC\/DC\u2019s last Houston show in 2016, a Reliant Stadium crowd welcomed the band\u2019 \u2018s Power Up Tour with intense energy Monday night. In turn, AC\/DC reminded the fans why they are one of the greatest live rock and roll bands of all time.<\/p>\n
Multiple generations of fans, both lifelong and those that were seeing them for the first time filed into the stadium looking forward to hearing the group\u2019s timeless catalog that holds strong to this day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Power Up Tour provided striking visuals, with a huge video screen showing a muscle car racing down the highway that drove into the stadium, cueing the band\u2019s introduction onto the stage.\u00a0 Audience members glowed throughout the stadium wearing bright red glowing devil horns on their heads, a classic ode to the band\u2019s rock and roll image.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Angus Young arrived in his signature blue velvet schoolboy uniform, providing a guitar riff that electrified the stadium in the build up to the first song.\u00a0 Leading off with their track \u201cIf You Want Blood (You\u2019ve Got It)\u201d from their 1979 album Highway To Hell, fans erupted as Brian Johnson kicked things off with his classic raspy vocals that are still a signature sound for the band after all of these years.<\/p>\n
The two legendary longstanding members of the group silenced any questions about their age as rows of guitar amplifiers sent shockwaves throughout the stadium. Stevie Young, the nephew of Angus Young and the late great band member Malcolm Young was also apart of the lineup, providing rhythm guitar for the group. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Malcolm Young, who passed away in 2017, was a founding member of the band and a key part of the group throughout the years.\u00a0 Their 2020 and most recent album, Power Up, was described as a tribute to Malcolm, as described by Johnson, who stated in an interview, \u201cHe was the band. He and Angus started it, but it was Malcolm\u2019s idea.\u00a0 He was our spiritual leader.\u201d<\/p>\n
The group wasted no time between songs, following up famous tracks such as \u201cBack In Black\u201d and \u201cThunderstruck.\u201d At one point in the show, Angus Young began playing his guitar by slapping the guitar strap against the fret board, sending the crowd into a frenzy.\u00a0 The seasoned rocker strutted up and down the catwalk on stage throughout the night, providing constant energy to the show.<\/p>\n

The set list of the show contained just 21 songs, with the majority of tracks coming from their earliest, most popular albums, serving more as a celebration of the band\u2019s greatest hits than an album-supporting tour. \u00a0<\/p>\n
AC\/DC concluded the night with some of their iconic tracks, including \u201cWhole Lotta Rosie\u201d and \u201cLet There Be Rock\u201d, with the the rock and roll legends returning to the stage to deliver an encore of their legendary tracks \u201cTNT\u201d and \u201cFor Those About To Rock (We Salute You)\u201d. As the band exited the stage, two large cannons fired, marking the end of an epic night of rock and roll.<\/p>\n
