Burger Bodega’s second location at 21904 Franz Rd. will officially open Saturday, Sep. 19, according to a press release. The announcement marks the restaurant’s first-ever expansion since the concept got its start as a pop-up<\/a> around the Houston area.<\/p>\n

“Katy has been on our radar since day one,” chef and owner Abbas Dhanani said in a statement. “It’s one of the most vibrant, food-loving communities in the Houston area, and we’re beyond grateful for the chance to bring Burger Bodega here.”<\/p>\n

The Katy Burger Bodega won’t have a drive-thru, but it will have a dedicated pickup and curbside window. It will also have a patio for outdoor dining as well as the same menu as the OG Washington Avenue location. Katy guests can get the same smashburgers, chopped cheese sandwiches and milkshakes.<\/p>\n

“This grand opening is for everyone who has supported us since we were slinging burgers out of a backyard pop-up,” Dhanani said. “We can’t wait to welcome Katy to the family.”<\/p>\n

Burger Bodega’s expansion to Katy has been a long time coming. Folks on Reddit spotted the development as early as 2024 when a permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation popped up.<\/p>\n

Dhanani’s smashburger concept got its start as a food pop-up in 2021. A year later, the food\u00a0blogger (@houstoneatz)\u00a0and restaurateur opened the first permanent Burger\u00a0 Bodega at 4520 Washington Ave. in November 2022.
