Miley Cyrus appears to be dropping her famous last name, based on hints on social media.<\/p>\n

On Aug. 31, she debuted a new handle on her social media that just reads \u201cmiley\u201d instead of her first and last name.<\/p>\n

Along with the name change was a red-toned photo of Cyrus and in the post, she put in the caption \u201cMILEY\u201d in all caps.<\/p>\n

The name change came just a day before she announced her newest album, \u201cBass Persuades,\u201d available September 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cMusic takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cHeart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That\u2019s what the title means to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cThank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album,\u201d signing off with a red heart emoji and her name.<\/p>\n

Miley also shared a video of her rocking out with an electric guitar, teasing what the music will sound like.<\/p>\n

In addition to the album, Miley announced two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this October.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a while. The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists. I\u2019ve sat in those seats many times, but I\u2019ve never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I\u2019m bringing it home. See you there,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Some fans wondered if Miley dropping her last name was a dig at her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, with whom she\u2019s been feuding for the past few years.<\/p>\n

But Miley said on the \u201cReclaiming\u201d podcast<\/a> last year, \u201cHalf of us weren’t speaking to each other at one point and we cleaned it all up,\u201d adding, \u201cI watched what happens when you don’t clean things up as they’re happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
