The scandal-scarred independents running for New York City mayor stand little chance against frontrunner Zohran Mamdani <\/a>\u2014 even if the rivals team up against the socialist candidate, a shocking new poll found.<\/p>\n

Mamdani, a Queens assemblyman and Democratic nominee, is projected to handily win the November general election with 50% of likely voters in the latest survey, released Tuesday by\u00a0Zenith Research\/Public Progress Solutions.<\/p>\n

Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who has decided to continue his comeback tour<\/a> after his embarrassing June primary loss to 33-year-old Mamdani, came in a distant second at 22%, while the GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa pulled 13%.<\/p>\n

Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo finished in a distant second with 22% in the poll from Zenith Research\/Public Progress Solutions. J.C. Rice<\/p>\n

Mayor Eric Adams, who bailed on the Democratic party line after his historic corruption case took months for the Trump administration to kill, failed to muster more than 7% of support.<\/p>\n

The poll found that even if Adams or Cuomo had their shot at facing off against the DSA lawmaker<\/a> one on one, neither would come close to knocking off the current frontrunner.<\/p>\n

Cuomo came the closest but still only received 40% to Mamdani\u2019s 55% in a scenario where the other candidates dropped out, according to the poll of 1,000 likely voters.<\/p>\n

If Adams squared off solely against Mamdani, the survey had the socialist easily winning 59%-32%.<\/p>\n

The poll projected that Mamdani would still win the election even if Mayor Adams drops out and gives support to Cuomo. J.C. Rice<\/p>\n

The nagging issue for Adams and Cuomo, who both have been trying to rebrand themselves with the public, is the strong negatives dogging each campaign with strong name recognition.<\/p>\n

About 60% of likely voters said they would never consider voting for Cuomo, while 68% of those polled said Adams will never be their choice come November. <\/p>\n

If Cuomo or Adams were to abandon their independent campaigns, neither mayoral foe came close to Mamdani, the poll found.<\/p>\n

Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa finished in third in the poll with 13%. Michael Nagle<\/p>\n

If Cuomo drops his bid, the survey has Mamdani winning with 55%, Sliwa in second at 16% and Adams in third at 14%.<\/p>\n
