“Interest in skilled trades education continues to grow as students weigh the cost of education against career opportunities, time to employment and long-term job stability,” said Kevin Prehn, SVP and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Technical Institute, Inc. “As artificial intelligence and automation reshape parts of the workforce, many students are seeking careers that emphasize technical expertise, critical thinking and hands-on problem-solving. Universal Technical Institute has a long history of working with Texas’s employers to support their talent pipelines. The company now has seven campuses in the state across its two brands of UTI and Concorde Career Colleges.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UTI-San Antonio opened this spring to stronger-than-expected demand, with new student starts at approximately 25 percent ahead of the launch model. The campus, which will serve up to 800 students at scale, is the company’s first campus dedicated exclusively to the skilled trades, with programs in aviation, welding, HVACR, electrical, industrial maintenance, robotics and wind energy.<\/p>\n
