Here\u2019s what the forecast looks like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fort Bragg \u2013 11:50 PM PDT, July 29<\/li>\n<li>Crescent City \u2013 11:55 PM PDT, July 29<\/li>\n<li>Monterey \u2013 12:15 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>Port San Luis \u2013 12:35 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>San Francisco \u2013 12:40 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>Santa Barbara \u2013 12:50 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>Los Angeles Harbor \u2013 1:05 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>Newport Beach \u2013 1:10 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<li>Oceanside &amp; La Jolla \u2013 1:15 AM PDT, July 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The NWS has urged people along the coast to remain alert and await further updates. So far, no evacuation orders have been announced, but authorities are monitoring the situation closely in coordination with federal emergency services.<\/p>\n<p>What triggered the alert?<\/p>\n<p>The tsunami watch follows an undersea 8.7-magnitude earthquake near Russia\u2019s Kamchatka Peninsula\u2014part of the Pacific \u201cRing of Fire,\u201d a region known for its high seismic activity.
