A history of stroke and kidney cancer were listed as other significant conditions that contributed to his death, but did not result in the underlying cause of death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe document also stated that he had not undergone any surgeries for coronary artery disease, kidney cancer or history of stroke, according to People.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCurry, who shot to stardom in his signature role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic film\u00a0The Rocky Horror Picture Show, died August 25 at his home in L.A.\u2019s Toluca Lake neighborhood at the age of 80.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA three-time Tony Award nominee, Curry had been in precarious health since suffering a major stroke in 2012.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFollowing\u00a0Rocky Horror, Curry appeared in Stephen Frears\u2019 television production of\u00a0Three Men in a Boat\u00a0alongside Monty Python\u2019s Michael Palin. He went on to  play Dadaist Tristan Tzara in the Royal Shakespeare Company\u2019s production of Tom Stoppard\u2019s\u00a0Travesties,\u00a0which ran in both the West End and on Broadway through 1976.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCurry also starred in the six-part UK television series\u00a0The Life &amp; Times of William Shakespeare,\u00a0portraying the Bard from a young man through to his death. And while\u00a0Rocky Horror\u00a0was gaining traction on U.S. screens, Curry was cast in the film\u00a0The Shout\u00a0with Alan Bates and John Hurt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlso on the film side, Curry was known for his role as Rooster Hannigan in 1982\u2019s\u00a0Annie, the butler Wadsworth in 1985\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/clue-turns-30-15-reasons-to-love-this-movie-three-decades-later\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Clue<\/a>\u00a0and Long John Silver in 1996\u2019s\u00a0Muppet Treasure Island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"We now have a cause of death for Rocky Horror Picture Show actor Tim Curry.
