JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A man was arrested on a murder charge after another man died from a gunshot wound to the chest last October, says the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office (JSO).<\/p>\n
According to JSO, on October 1, 2025, District 1 Patrol officers responded to a local hospital after 24-year-old Javaris Perkins was dropped off with a gunshot wound to his chest. He eventually died from his injuries.<\/p>\n
JSO says detectives used every investigative tool available and eventually identified the suspect as 20-year-old Jamari Wyche.<\/p>\n
Wyche was arrested in an unrelated armed robbery case less than two weeks after Perkins died. He has been in the Duval County jail since October 13, 2025.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, detectives charged Wyche with Perkins\u2019 murder.<\/p>\n
