An American Israeli heckler accused<\/a> Mayor Zohran Mamdani of ignoring rising antisemitism <\/a>in the city while he visited a Jewish store in Brooklyn on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Stephanie Benshimol, a self-described \u201cBoss Momma American Israeli Zionist\u201d <\/a>and the founder of United Zionists, berated Hizzoner for visiting Eichler\u2019s, a Judaica store in Borough Park, before the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, it\u2019s me, Stefanie Benshimol. You remember me? Remember last year when Trump freed the hostages?\u201d she yelled at Mamdani while filming inside the shop. \u201cIt\u2019s all because of you we have so much antisemitism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benshimol, a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, shamed Mamdani for appearing in the neighborhood given the rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes across the city. <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cShame on you for coming to Borough Park where my Bubbie came after the Holocaust!\u201d she roared.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Bubbie and Zaidy came to Borough Park! You have such chutzpah coming here! Shame on you!\u201d Benshimol yelled, using the Yiddish words for grandmother and grandfather respectively. <\/p>\n

As the Zionist activist grew increasingly emphatic, staff shooed her out of the store, prompting her to call one of the workers a \u201ckapo\u201d \u2014 a term for a concentration camp prisoner forced by the Nazis to supervise fellow captives.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a kapo? Are you supporting him? Do you support Israel? Do you support Israel? Do you?\u201d<\/p>\n

Her vitriol then turned toward the Eichler\u2019s store, whose owners she accused of wanting to \u201ckiss ass to the hater of all Jewish people!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShame on you Eichler\u2019s, shame on you for allowing Zohran Mamdani to come to the heart of the Jewish neighborhood in Borough Park,\u201d Benshimol said.<\/p>\n

Mamdani didn\u2019t respond to Benshimol\u2019s taunts. <\/p>\n

Hate crimes surged in the Big Apple under Mamdani<\/a>\u00a0this year \u2014 with more than half of\u00a0incidents targeting Jewish New Yorkers<\/a>, unsettling new crime statistics show.<\/p>\n

Hate crimes are up 9.4% citywide and more than half \u2014 56.9% \u2014 were antisemitic attacks, despite Jewish people making up just 10% of New York City\u2019s population, according to NYPD data released last month.<\/p>\n
